Elmwood health centre refurbishment

The refurbishment of Elmwood Health Centre was completed in early summer 2017.  Patients who have not visited us for a while will notice quite a few changes, especially to the layout of the individual consulting rooms and to the old “Clinic Wing” where our nurses and HCAs are based.

Walking into our Reception area, you will see a changed layout with much less clutter and a smart new Reception desk.  Patients are called to their GP and nurse/HCA consultations both audibly over the patient call system and visually on the screens in both of the waiting rooms and at Reception. We now have a fully accessible toilet for disabled patients which also has a baby change facility.

We have re-numbered our rooms:

Wing 1 – where most of the GPs are based – contains the main waiting room and consulting rooms 10 to 19

Wing 2 – where the nurses, HCAs and phlebotomist are based – contains the smaller waiting room and rooms 20 to 25

Wing 3 – contains the Minor Operations Theatre and GP rooms 30 and 31

Wing 4 – upstairs level, with disabled access from the rear door facing Holme Valley Memorial Hospital – contains rooms 40 to 46.  This is where the ante-natal clinic and pain management clinic are held and also where a private Podiatrist and private Physiotherapist run their clinics.

On the walls of the corridors we have examples of paintings loaned by a group of local artists, the Holmfirth Colourists.  These works are for sale and details are displayed on information boards or, you can ask at Reception.

We hope you find the refreshed surroundings pleasant to visit.
